(Sorry guys, but she wants to practice a little, so don't join this version... I might put it up later.)

Story:
There was a time when you humans needed us, a time of nothingness in which you relied upon us. We were the ones you worshipped, the beings you loved dearly, and the gods you praised. In return we would give all of you gifts: a good harvest, a healthy child, a successful business venture. We let you prosper and succeed. We watched you strive for greatness in our care.

There came a time when humans achieved abundance on their own. We did not need to be prayed to anymore. You cursed us out when you had a bad harvest, a still born child, a raid by thieves. We had suddenly become things to blame for all of your little trivial hardships. You did not see all of the other good we gave anymore. We tried to take our help away, to make you regret your decision and come back to us. We missed you dearly, you see, but by then you humans had become godlike in your own ways.

There is no way we can return to your favor again, so we go. We fall from the stars to join the ranks of humans. We keep our immortality and our affinities among you, though we like to live with you and keep our natures secret. We are simply beings of your legends now. You call us Pearls. You can see us fall from the stars, falling lights such as the falling beads of a pearl necklace. The Pearls of the Stars.

There are those of us who do not see this as an option though. Many wish for revenge upon you for losing your faith in us so easily. To punish you for all the wrong you’ve committed us. They fall only to make you humans suffer. It’s time we step forward from the shadows and protect you. You are our creations. We do not wish to see you suffer again.

Rules/Clarifications:
- Your human is not allowed to be the companion of your god/goddess, only another person’s. What the pair does is up to the writers – hate each other, become friends, fall in love…Whatever!
- If a god/goddess wishes to stay with the human, he/she has the option of giving up their immortality.
- Your god/goddess does not have to look like the supposed image (if he/she comes with one) that they are supposed to look like.
- Your god/goddess’s affinity does not have to decide if they are good/evil. A god of chaos can be good while a goddess of life can be bad.
- Your god/goddess must have existed at one point, in any culture. They would not be gods/goddesses used in any of today’s religions because they have not been forgotten by humanity.
- Only gods/goddesses can kill one another, humans can only hurt them. If you do want to out your bad god/goddess, you have the option of making another. Want to out someone else’s god/goddess? Please ask their permission before doing so.
- Human hurt/dying? Gods/goddesses can heal; Gods/goddesses cannot make people return from the dead. (Unless your affinity says otherwise. Examples: God/goddess of death cannot heal, but can bring people back. God/goddess of life can heal, but cannot bring people back.)
- If your god/goddess comes with a weapon they can summon it in times of battle er whatnot. They don’t have to carry it around the whole time.

Starting scene in a city by a port. A rather small urban area around it which dissolves into woods and more rural area.

Feeling reviatlized, Persephone stood over the dock, looking at the calm green-blue water. She adored summer, though it always felt too short to her. It was like a hot flash, in the least literal sense. The outdoor market was live behind her, the sounds and smells surrounding her. It was so different from her. She sighed and stood, walking to the nearest vendor.

Reese pushed his hands into his pockets and walked along the edge of the road. His bag hung heavily from his shoulder and his glasses slid slowly down his nose. He pushed them up and stumbled over the curb, checking to see if anyone had seen him.

Alleo looked up from his book and hardly tried to hide his amusement as he watch someone trip over the curb. Watching things like that made him feel better, like he wasn't the only one who could mess little things, like walking down a street, up. He walked by the boy who had tripped and shoved his shoulder a little, hoping for some response. Picking fights was fun, even if his opponent was taller than he was.

Mors looked at the measly humans and sighed. Watching people doing nothing wasn't very fun. Now snatching souls and bringing them into the Underworld, *that* was fun. He sighed again, upset that summer had just started. Though there were plenty of drownings and whatnot in the summer, there always seemed to be more death in the winter.

Reese turned to the shorter boy, looking confused. "Um, can I help you?" He asked, raising an eyebrow. He wasn't in the mood to fight, but he would if he needed to. The kid didn't look like a fighter, but then again, he was a bad judge of character.

Persephone spotted Mors watching over two human boys and she sighed. "Don't you have something better to? Like... Decompose?" She asked, chuckling and watching the boys, too.

Alleo looked up into the boys face. "Um, no, not really." He coated his voice with as much sarcasm as possible. "You know, just a busy street." Alleo looked out toward the near empty street and smirked.

Mors looked over toward Persephone with a look of pure loathing on his face. "Decomposing isn't really my style anymore." He let his form flicker from a humanoid appearance to a skeleton. "Been there, done that. How 'bout you, Queen Sunshine and Flowers, you just watch mortals for the thrill?"

"Whatever," Reese said, turning away from the kid and starting back down the street. The kid was jut scouting for trouble and Reese wasn't about to help him find it. Maybe the market would have something in store for him. Probably not.

Persephone grinned and shrugged. "Yep, because the only thing I find more thrilling than two meat bags annoying each other is watching the grass grow." She looked beyond him, to the rows of houses and to the boys. She knew they could see her, but she didn't mind.

Alleo let the boy walk away. He probably wasn't good at fighting, anyways. He wore glasses, for God's sake. That, or he would kick Alleo's butt. Either way, not a very fun fight. He looked up into the clouds, bored because there was nothing to do. There were two people standing on the curb, one a beautiful, tall girl and the other a tall man. Now, he looked like fun to fight. He started to walk toward them.

Mors laughed at the comment. "A statement worthy of Demeter herself." He laughed again, then stopped suddenly. "What are you looking at?" He saw the two mortal boys talking and turned back to Persephone. "Are they really that interesting? They're just humans."[/i]

"Not really interesting, but so animated and oblivious," Pershephone said as one of the boys approached. He looked dead set on something. She chuckled to herself. Dead. She was never that good with jokes.

*I think that was the best worst joke ever*

"Our saint Persephone, actually calling a human oblivious! That could be seen as an insult, my dear." She was older than Mors, but he called all minor goddesses "My dear," no matter how much they hated it.

Alleo continued to walk toward the two people. Even as they stood still, he could tell they were both graceful. He continued to walk over, and the girl looked toward him. Man, she was a Goddess. She was shorter than he was, and when she looked at him, he could see her beautiful green eyes. The man had his back to Alleo, but he could tell he wasn't being very kind to her. Perfect reason to pick a fight.

Persephone smiled and shook her head. "Leave it to a pariah to turn my /obvious/ compliment into an insult," she said. "I think it would be lovely to be able to be oblivious." the human boy was face to face with them now and she cocked her head, giving him a questioning look.

Alleo looked into the girls eyes, her startling green eyes, and then he turned toward the man. He was taller than Alleo, MUCH taller, but he didn't back down. Alleo turned back toward the girl and asked, "Is he bothering you, ma'am?"

Behind the boy's back, Mors smile grew. He was hoping that Persephone would say yes, just to see the weak humans response. If she said yes, well then, maybe today wouldn't be as big of a waste as he had originally thought.

Persephone bit her lip. What was Mors going to do? Kill him? She started to worry, but her curiosity caused a snap decision. "Yes, he's grown quite bothersome," she said, stepping back.

Alleo's face broke into a smile. "Well. I think i might be able to fix that for you." Alleo gave the girl one more smile and turned around. "Time to turn the lights out." He pulled back his fist and tried to punch the man in the face, his arm stretching out as long as it could to reach his face. But before Alleo's fist could make contact, the guy's hand flew up and grabbed his fist.
"I don't think so, mortal." He flung Alleo into the side of the convenience store across the street, and with a crash, Alleo lay still, hardly able to cope with the pain.
